About Veterans Artist Network (VAN)

VAN empowers veterans and service members to heal, skill-build, and thrive through art, music, and digital media—both online and in community. We combine mentorship, structured training, and creative opportunity to turn service into a new professional and personal purpose.
Interview with Jon Stone

Q&A with Jon Stone, Founder of Veteran Artist Network

I’m Jon Stone, an Air Force veteran, visual storyteller, and landscape painter. After serving my country, I discovered that art could be more than creative expression; it could be a lifeline. A way to heal, rebuild identity, and reconnect with purpose after military service.

VAN exists to restore creative purpose for serving military, veterans, transitioning service members, and their supporters by providing access to professional artists, art therapists, mentors, and creative technologies through immersive, remote programs. Through initiatives like Creative SoulBridge and our growing digital platform VanGoTV, we combine artmaking, mentorship, wellness practices, and career development to help veterans transform lived experience into creative voice—and sustainable opportunity.

Veterans often struggle with isolation and loss of purpose during the transition to civilian life. While many programs address employment or clinical needs, few leverage creativity as a long-term pathway for healing and growth. The Veteran Artist Network bridges this gap by uniting art, mentorship, and community in a remote, holistic model that supports wellness, skill development, and creative career pathways.

Through guided creative practice, peer connection, and professional mentorship, we have sealed gaps of isolation, rebuilt creatives identities, and developed transferable creative skills. Programs like Creative SoulBridge and VanGoTV are creating pathways for self-expression, personal growth, and sustainable creative careers allowing our members.to thrive with their creative goals and passion. This ethos enables creativity as a transformational practice for coping with trauma and recycles it into  a source of connection, confidence, and opportunity.

The creator economy is not a trend, it is the future of work. Veteran Artist Network sits at the intersection of creativity, technology, and community, transforming underutilized veteran talent into scalable creative content, digital media, and cultural value. By building creator pipelines through mentorship, remote platforms, and original content distribution via VanGoTV, VAN converts social impact into sustainable growth by producing skilled creators, original IP, and measurable engagement in an economy driven by authenticity, storytelling, and human connection."The creator age is here and VAN builds creators with purpose, discipline, and stories the world is ready to hear."
